Vega Thurber lab graduate Dr. Ryan McMinds traveled the world seeking to understand coral reefs and their relation to bacteria and viruses at a time when these habitats are facing unrelenting pressures. His work recently took him to Lizard Island Research Station on the Great Barrier Reef.
